How This Book Began
I, Chandra Zas, am the self-declared book momma. I love writing. I have dreamed of writing a book since I was a child. I am deeply passionate about personal growth and transformation.
Off the top of my head I wrote down 19 people; I looked at the list and asked, "What is the commonality?" And answered: "Human potential."
I asked my top five potential authors if they would join. When they all said yes, this book began. I gave each author the task to share their expertise and above all to give the reader key takeaways they can bring into their life upon reading the chapter.
"We each distill our message and we each write our chapters with the aim to give real tools to raise collective human potential."
— Chandra Zas, Compiler & Editor
Reader Reviews
This handbook is exactly what the personal growth space has been missing — a collaborative, multi-disciplinary guide that doesn't preach but teaches. Each chapter stands alone and together they form something greater than the sum of their parts.

Whether you're new to the world of holistic health or a seasoned practitioner, this book meets you where you are. The range of topics — from breathwork to psychedelics to Human Design — is genuinely impressive, and each author brings real expertise and heart.

I picked this up expecting another wellness book full of vague advice. What I got was 18 chapters of specific, actionable wisdom from practitioners who clearly live what they teach. The Mood Before Food chapter alone was worth the price.

Questions
Handbook for Human Potential is for seekers, healers, coaches, practitioners, and anyone wanting to expand their wellness horizons. The book is a carefully curated panel of 18 experts spanning different modalities of wellness — from doctors and naturopaths to bodyworkers, breathwork facilitators, and Human Design analysts. Whether you're new to holistic health or a seasoned practitioner, each chapter meets you exactly where you are.
No — and that's the point. Most personal growth books take one modality (breathwork, or psychedelics, or somatic healing) and treat it as the answer. Handbook for Human Potential brings together 18 pioneering practitioners from across disciplines: neuroplasticity, mind-body medicine, plant medicine, breathwork, Human Design, embodied movement, death and dying, food psychology, and more. The breadth is the gift.
Yes. The book was designed for non-linear reading. Each chapter is a standalone teaching from a different author, so you can start with the topic that's most alive for you and move from there. Many readers begin with Chapter 10 (Mood Before Food) or Chapter 13 (Psychedelics for Healing) and then circle back to the foundational chapters on the body and breath.
No — and that's one of the most-cited reasons readers return to it. Verified Amazon reviewers consistently describe the book as practical without being rigid, compassionate, and the opposite of boilerplate self-help. The book doesn't assume you're broken or need fixing. It meets you exactly where you are and offers tools, reflections, and perspectives — never instructions on who you're "supposed" to be.
Handbook for Human Potential makes a thoughtful gift for anyone in a season of personal growth, a recent graduate or new parent, a therapist or coach building a reference library, or a friend who's curious about somatic work, breathwork, plant medicine, or any of the other pathways inside. The hardcover edition is built for keeping.

Yes. Many of the 18 contributing authors are practicing experts — physicians, naturopaths, registered nurses, breathwork facilitators, somatic coaches, Human Design analysts, ketamine specialists, and end-of-life care professionals. Therapists, coaches, and healers often buy multiple copies — one for their own bedside reference, others to share with clients or colleagues. The book functions as a multi-modality wellness reference you return to again and again.
