Who is Jim Pehkonen?
Jim Pehkonen is a Life Architect, a trained and certified Life Coach working with clients experiencing deep trauma, addiction recovery, and leadership development. With over 18 years of experience coaching in one-on-one settings and group workshops, he assists his clients in understanding how they create this experience called life.
In 2003, he began his own transformation, and during the next 10 years of intense experiential study, he healed himself first, then grew and developed a coaching business to assist others. He uses a range of healing modalities to support others in their personal transformations.
With his past experience as a General Manager in a construction company and trauma recovery coaching in addiction recovery facilities, Jim can help people from all walks of life. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Sierra Psychedelic Society as the Community Outreach person, leading Integration Circles and supporting community education about the benefits of psychedelic use.
“Trauma creates a long-term impact on your well-being.”

Key Takeaways to Implement
From the end of Jim's chapter
- 1
Exercise #1 — Documentation of your healing journey: Talk about where you are in life as you begin this journey. Write it down. This is for you and your growth.
- 2
Exercise #2 — Mapping your internal mind landscape: Sketch out your internal landscape on paper. Draw the "inner world" as you see it. Do this regularly (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) and notice how healing in one area impacts the rest.
- 3
Get Jim's book Wounds to Wisdom (WoundsToWisdomBook.com) to learn about alternate processes to address life trauma.
- 4
Understand that trauma is not what happened to you — it's what happened inside you as a result. The healing journey is about reclaiming your inner landscape.
