Who is Yotam Tamari?
Yotam Tamari is a man of peace and healing. Through his Chinese Medicine studies he built a bodywork practice using Tui Na — a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practice, specifically a form of therapeutic massage based on the same principles as acupuncture, aiming to harmonize the body's qi (energy flow) through manual manipulation.
Beyond his Tui Na practice he has become fascinated and passionate about the healing benefits of breathwork to move and heal trauma that gets stuck in the body.
When he is not working, he is spending time with loved ones, celebrating life, and running with his dog.
“Trauma starts when your breath stops.”

Key Takeaways to Implement
From the end of Yotam's chapter
- 1
In daily life, and especially when experiencing hard emotions or challenging events, intentionally self-regulate with long exhalations (8+ seconds) — breathe in through your nose and exhale out through your mouth.
- 2
Walk regularly, as medicine, for the diaphragm and nervous system — minimum 3 times a week for 30 minutes. Focus on your exhale to release CO2 and emotions.
- 3
Use a guided breathwork session like holotropic or rebirthing breathwork to release stuck emotions and create internal space for your spirit.
- 4
Notice when you are holding your breath or breathing shallowly — this is often a sign of suppressed emotion. Use a long exhale to gently release it.
